Fake Dust - Decrepitizing Din Of The Cerebral Psyopticon (2026)

Another band I saw recently at Les Passagers du Zinc, in Besançon (East of France), playing with Archagathus, Tension and Apoptose. And also a great show. Decrepitizing Din Of The Cerebral Psyopticon is their first album, released by the mighty Iron Lung Records. And it's an excellent album. Grindcore rooted in the old school, but also with some heavier parts and manic snare beating drumming evoking goregrind, but also some moments more on the powerviolence/punk side of grind. They can please the whole grind family.

Iron Lung - Adapting // Crawling (2025)

Maybe younger readers only know Iron Lung through the (always excellent) releases of their record label, but with Adapting // Crawling the bass/drums duo from Seattle is releasing a new album (previous one was twelve years ago!). And once again they deliver some great powerviolence, with bleak bits of sludge and noise. If you don't know Iron Lung, the band, it's time to discover it.

Luke Sick & Wolfagram - Garshas (2023)

Garshas is the second album from the duo Luke Sick (Californian MC) and Wolfagram (producer from Toronto), and this time again the collaboration works wonder. Both are experts in their domains and the album reminds the best of old school hip-hop, in a boom-bap vein, often with a dark feel, not very far from stuff like Mobb Deep, Gravediggaz or MF Doom. Like the first album it is released by Iron Lungs recods. Real recognize real as they say...

Luke Sick and Wolfagram - Yegg War (2020)

Iron Lung records is more known for his hardcore related releases, but this time they release a hip-hop tape. Luke Sick is the MC and Wolfagram the beatmaker and what they do on Yegg War is boom bap hip-hop with a gangsta/horrorcore atmosphere. I don't know what they have done before, but this is really good. Recommended stuff.

Internal Rot - Grieving Birth (2020)

Grieving Birth is the new album (and their second one, released by Iron Lung) from one of the pillars of the Australian grind scene, Internal Rot. Excellent album of pure grind, deeply rooted in old school, but faster most of the time. Catchy (as grind can be catchy, this is not exactly "radio friendly"!) and punishing at the same time. So far it's my favourite grind release of the year.
