Grond - Worship the Kraken (2016)

Worship the Kraken is the second album of the russian death-metal band Grond. An album I was waiting for because I really liked their first album "Howling from the Deep" (read my review HERE). And this new album is at least as good as the previous one. They keep on playing their bestial old school death metal in an Obituary / early Cannibal Corpse vein and they do it really well with good riffing and soloing, good vocal lines, an excellent sense of groove and all the musicianship and brutality needed. Good production as well, with basslines that you can hear as well as the other guitars. And they also are really good at writing memorable and catchy death metal songs. Possibly the best new old school death metal band. Highly recommended!
