Needful Things / Controlled Existence - Split LP(2021)

Good split LP between two Czech grindcore bands, Needful Things and Controlled Existence on the excellent Psychocontrol Records (a label with guys playing in Needful Things), for both bands it's a last recording with their current vocalist. Both bands are on the old school side of grind, but with a quite modern sound for Needful Things. Both are doing well in this enjoyable split in the pure grind tradition.

Needful things / Compulsion to kill split EP (2014)

This is a cool split from two very good grind bands, Needful things from Czech republic and Compulsion to kill from Malaysia. it was released in nov 20144 by Psychocontrol records.

Needful things plays a grind that is especially fast and tight, in a modern vein, and they do it right (I also recommend their 2011 album, read my review HERE).

Compulsion to kill plays a rawer, more old school and grindpunk kind of grind, with good riffing, efficient drumming and dual high pitched screams / pig squeals vocals. They released a very good album last year (called Ruined society).

Very good split with two bands playing two different style of grind and very good in it. recommended!

Needful things-Tentacles of influence (2011)

If you're looking for some straight to your face grindcore this record will do. Tentacles of influence, released in 2011 is I think the second full lenght album of the Czech grinders Needful things. The riffing with crust punk and trash flavours and the simplicity of the song structure relates Needful things music to the old school of grind whereas the rapidity and density of the drumming relates clearly to modern grind (the especially fast drumming and the trashy riffing reminds me of The kill sometimes). the overall result is a well crafted and very efficient album that most grinders will enjoy.
