AxCxMxE - NECROPATÍA SISTÉMICA (2026)

Necropatia Sistemica is AxCxMxE second album. The Columbian grinders play some traditionnal grind, but with goregrind style vocals and a quite clean sounding bass forward in the mix, a bit like in modern tech death. This mix of old school basics and modern elements works fine, nothing groundbreaking, it's still quite basic, but it's an enjoyable album.

Neural Indent - Thalassaeglean Unguents (2026)

Neural indent is one of the Matt Stephens one man noisegrind / free band (they can be checked on his Putrefactive Recordings bandcamp), Thalassaeglean Unguents is its new album, like in previous Neural Indent ones he combines digital goregrind with keys/piano with free jazz song structures. But this time the songs are longer and the keys (often dissonant) plays a bigger role. Challenging but rewarding for the curious and adventurous minds. If you like it I advise you check as well Gorenette Coleman, which is basically same concept but with sax instead of keys. Good stuff!

Cryptworm - Infectious Pathological Waste (2026)

Do you love sweet melodies and pretty flowers? Would you kill for it? Do you love brutal death metal, goregrind, and Suffocation? If you do, The third Cryptoworm album Infectious Pathological Waste is exactly what you need. So sweet, groovy and putrid!

GIST - Preservation of Decomposing Tissues via Adipocere Formation (2025)

Which music could be better suited for Christmas than pathological goregrind? Right, then Preservation of Decomposing Tissues via Adipocere Formation from one-man-band GIST is what you need. Even if, actually, if you except the vocals and the drum machine it would be closer to death-doom, with it's quite melodic riffs (but Carcass fans know that melodic guitar parts are no stranger to goregrind isn't it?). In any case, it's cool stuff, I especially recommend the last track. Have a good time!

Sanguisugabogg - Hideous Aftermath (2025)

See the cover art? Yes, that's it, more serious and darker. With Hideous Aftermath, Sanguisugabogg goes one step further in the direction already undertaken with Homicidal Ecstasy. Slower, darker, less crazy slam (although the goregrind/slam element is still there and still nice). But while Homicidal Ecstasy sounded a bit too uniform to me, in Hideous Aftermath this evolution is more convincing, maybe because of the greater diversity making the songs more catchy and impactful. They even introduced some bit of sick melodies, some nearly djent like atmosphere, and a song evoking a lot Godflesh. With all this on top of the death/slam they do so well, they manage to keep your attention through all the album, from first note to last one. And I enjoy going back to it every day. Maybe it's even better than Tortured Whole was. And I wish they will keep on experimenting new things in the next one, they just proved they're good at that. But for now, I really recommend Hideous Aftermath!

Cacophonous Incantation - Implements of Hell (2019)

I really hope Implements of Hell won't stay the only release from Cacophonous Incantation, since I really enjoy it. I like their deathgrind/goregrind filled with vicious riffing and catchy grooves. Nothing groundbreaking, but they're excellent at doing it.

Fulminate - High Caliber Decimator (EP 2024)

Fulminate is a new grind band from Chicago and this EP called High Caliber Decimator is their latest release (and their fourth one this year!). They play excellent old school gore grind, raw and noisy but with a nice groove. It's really good stuff, and I recommended the rest of their discography as well.

Ubruxum - Ultimo Bruxismo (2023)

Looking for some nice, smooth and smart music? Go to my previous post. This one is the opposite : Ubruxum music (from Toronto) is ugly and gross. But good as well, and if you're a death metal freak like me, you might enjoy it! Their album Ultimo Bruxismo released last year is a good piece of brutal death / goregrind with machine drum, reminding the Mortician groove (but they spare us the horror movies samples). Recommended if you're into this kind of stuff.

UNDERGANG - De Syv stadier af fordærv (EP 2023)

If you like your death metal very raw and disgusting, you're probably already familiar with Danish band  UNDERGANG, if not then I urge you to listen to them, you won't regret, for example with their latest release the De Syv stadier af fordærv EP from last year. 7 tracks mixing guttural grindgore (Carcass school) and death doom for the slower parts. 100% filthy raw groove 100% UNDERGANG. 100% recommended!

Smallpox Aroma - Festering Embryos of Logical Corruption (2023)

Smallpox Aroma is a trio from Bangkok, they are active since 2006 and released many splits, EP's and the like, but Festering Embryos of Logical Corruption is their first album. It's a fine piece of grindcore, with some goregrind, but also mincecore elements and can be enjoyed by people into any of the grind different varieties.

Cryptworm - Oozing Radioactive Vomition (2023)

Happy to say that death metallers from Bristol (UK) Cryptworm are passing with success the test of the second album (after a first excellent one) with Oozing Radioactive Vomition (out in mid december). The menu is still old school death metal mixed with slam / Mortician / goregrind for additional groove and putridity. Very tasty!

FesterDecay - Reality Rotten to the Core (2023)

After a demo and a split, Reality Rotten to the Core is the first album from Japanese band FesterDecay.  And it's a very strong one, enough to be a solid candidate for goregrind album of the year! If you're into early Carcass don't sleep on it! Twisted lead guitars, vocals that are disgusting enough but not too artificial, and of course a lot of raw and primitive grind brutality. Recommended!

Grotesquerie - Composted Beyond Recognition (2022)

Grotesquerie are from Switzerland and their music is on the more death-metal/gore side of grindcore, somewhere between Cannibal Corpse, Mortician and say Sublime Cadaveric Decomposition. Heaviness, groove, good production, tight execution, everything makes Composted Beyond Recognition an excellent first album (they also have good split releases).

Sanguisugabogg - Homicidal Ecstasy (2023)

I like this second Sanguisugabogg album, called Homicidal Ecstasy. But I have to say I enjoyed more the first one, the totally awesome "Tortured Whole". I feel the first album was crazier and catchier than the new one, maybe it benefited from a more inspired songwriting, maybe because a slight shift towards more downtempo/slam and less goregrind makes the music more monotonous. That being said, I still recommend Homocidal Ecstasy (but if you don't know the 'Bogg yet, start with Tortured Whole!).

Incinerated - Portraits of Serial Killers (2022)

Incinerated is a death/grind band from melbourne, australia (I rewied their excellent split with Intensive Care). But it's also a one-man (Cristian Farias) project from Chile. Also in death/grind waters, this short release called Portraits of Serial Killers, mix grindcore, goregrind and Mortician. And do it well.

Blemish - Demo (2021)

Blemish released my favourite grind demo in 2021. I really enjoy their death/grind with a gore/slam/beatdown groove. Will they release one of the best grind album in 2022?

FLUIDS - Not Dark Yet (2021)

Not Dark Yet is the third album from FLUIDS, which is probably the best band following the Mortician recipe, and also kind of modernizing it, with the use sampled horror synthwave here and there, some slight trap elements in the drum programming. And on Not Dark Yet there's also a final death-doom song which is a good way of ending the album with something different. Heavy, groovy, gross, and fun.

Nyctophagia - Terrified of Tomorrow (2021)

Terrified of Tomorrow is the first album from US band Nyctophagia (they also have a few splits and EPs). They do deathgrind/goregrind and they do it well. Speed, brutality, groove. The specific goregrind elements are not "too much", balanced with a good dose of old school grind/death. Recommended if you're into that kind of stuff.

Yakisoba - Acid Bath Litanies (2021)

Goregrind isn't my favourite kind of grind largely due to the vocals, and I also don't really like the gurgling vocals on this Yakisoba album, the first one for the Italian band (not Japanese!), called Acid Bath Litanies. But I like it anyway because the instrumental parts are great (goregrind bands really should do instrumental versions of their albums like dub or hip-hop artists often do!), with a lot of groove as expected, with d-beat parts alternating with blast beats, and the inclusion of some guitar solos works fine. A good album for discovering what can be good in goregrind.
