Blame God - Blame God (2022)

Been waiting for a first Blame God album since I discovered them witht heir second release Strategically Confined in 2017. And here it is, in all its glory, the album, self titled. And no disapointement, it's as good as their previous releases. Old-school grind with also a noisegrind touch, and often reminding good ol' Napalm Death, but with enough own personnality. This time again they'll fit perfectly among the best grind releases of the year.

Blame God - Power and Control (2019)

Power and Control is the third release from Blame God. Their second one, Strategically Confined made a big impression on me two years ago (read my review HERE) and this one's also very good. The fast riffs are nicely vicious and the mid tempo/slower parts have a big heavy groove giving to this release a more death metal feel (think bands like Immolation or Incantation maybe) than the previous had (and why not?). Blame God is definitely one of the new grind band you need to follow. Now time for an album guys! I'm really looking forward to it!

I'll later give a general list but as is the tradition for Blasting Days I'm doing a specific list for the grindcore (and closely related stuff) releases that I enjoyed the most this year. As I'm not fond of giving ranks I'm giving it in alphabetical order (with link to my review just aside on the right, where you'll also find the links to the Bandcamp pages).

Blame God - Strategically Confined (cs 2017)

Strategically Confined is a ten minutes cassette and the second release from the US grind band Blame God. Strategically Confined is not just really good, it's near perfect. The fast grind / crust parts are killer, high impact stuff, with great vocals and riffing and especially good drumming, while the slower parts are very good as well with some noise / feedback loving guitar playing that is really nice, reminding a bit some Napalm Death or even Godflesh stuff.  It's without any doubt one of the major grind release of the year and I'm impatient to hear more from Blame God (I''ve been listening to Strategically Confinded not just every day, but several times a day during the last weeks). Highly recommended!
