Best of 2019 : the eclectic list

I've already posted a best of grindcore list (HERE) a best of death metal list (HERE), a industrial/electronic best of list (HERE), and now I post a list of every album that I really liked in 2019 that doesn't belong in one of those list, from hardcore to hip-hop to jazz here it is :

 Black Mountain - Destroyer

Christian Scott - Ancestral Recall

Dead Neanderthals - Ghosts

Endorphins Lost - Seclusions

Flying Luttenbachers - Shattered Dimension

Full of Hell - Weeping Choir

John Zorn – The Hierophant

King Midas Sound - Solitude

Lightning Bolt - Sonic Citadel

L’orange - Complicate Your Life With Violence

Mike Patton & Jean-Luc Vannier

Obscuringveil – Fleshvoid to Naught

Refused - War Music

Shit& Shine - Doing Drugs, Selling Drugs

Sole – Destituent

Teethof the Sea - Wraith

Turbohaler - Metal Vessel Music

Pisser - Wretched Life (EP 2019)

Pisser is a new band composed of experienced players from the UK punk/hardcore scene (Doom, Sore Throat, Anti-Cimex, The Filaments, etc.). To make is short what they play on their first release, the Wretched Life EP, could be described as Discharge with the addition of a saxhophone player. And it works just fine. Cool stuff!

Uniform & The Body - Everything That Dies Someday Comes Back

Zonal - Wrecked

Ossia - Devil's Dance (2019)

Ossia's Devil's Dance, released by Blackest Ever Black, is a very nice and finely crafted hybrid of noise, dark ambient and dub techno (better would be to describe each tracks but, hey, listen to the album!). There are many subtleties and a great attention to details so even the less instantly memorable tracks are in fact also very good. I recommend not only you listen to it but also do it with headphones. This one will be rightly placed in my soon to come list of the best industrial/electronic music for 2019.

Hideous Divinity - Simulacrum

Blood Incantation - Hidden History of the Human Race (2019)

Like with Blood Incantation first album, it took me some time to get how good is Hidden History of the Human Race. You don't catch all the subtleties at first listen. It's rooted in old school death metal, reminding Morbid Angel at its most cosmic, but also it's different, more technical but even more more progressive. And whether they do the brutal stuff or the more "weird spacey" parts, they excel. Highly recommended, this one will naturally sit in good place among my soon to come "best death metal of 2019" list.
